Skate blades profiled to a user’s specific needs enable goal-oriented on-ice training and skill development. The skates are not just sharp, they actively support and improve an individual’s performance. Profiling is about finding the right compromise between desired characteristics: agility, grip, and bite on one side, and efficiency, glide, and balance on the other. The PARDUC® profile selection includes premium profile templates for various shaping needs, designed to enhance the individual skating characteristics of athletes at both professional and junior levels.
Our selection of profiles covers everything from basic single-radius profiles to advanced quad-radius profiles. In addition to traditional radius profiling, we also offer elliptical profiles whose geometry changes along the entire length of the blade.

profiles feature a blade shape composed of two arcs; the front arc determines agility, and the rear arc determines balance and glide. Check out the popular EAGLE 9-10 profile, a favourite among young players.

profiles shape the blade with a flat glide surface and a single radius. The length of the glide surface affects stability and glide, while the size of the chosen radius impacts agility and acceleration. For example, the Profile Template COUGAR 11-60-11, with its long glide surface, is ideal for profiling the skates of beginner ice hockey players when the goal is extreme stability and good glide.

profiles consist of four different radii. BEAR profiles have a natural forward pitch, which creates a slightly front-weighted skating stance, making them an excellent choice for forwards. Note that this forward pitch can make backward skating more difficult and is therefore not the optimal choice for defensemen. Discover the BEAR 1 profiling template, a profile designed for juniors.

profiles are traditional, single-radius profiles without a separate glide surface. Generally, new skates come with a factory profile equivalent to the RADIUS series. In this series, a large radius means more stability and glide, while a small radius directly translates to more agility and bite. The Radius series is especially popular among goaltenders. For example, explore the RADIUS 25 profile template, designed for goalies seeking agility and medium stability in their game.

profile templates combine good glide and agility properties into a single profile. BADGER series profiles do not have individual radii; instead, they consist of one continuous curve. These profiles have a natural forward pitch and are particularly suitable for offensive players who do not want to compromise between glide and agility. Take a look at the BADGER 1 profile, designed for junior players.
In ice sports, skate profiling refers to changing the curvature, or radius, of the skate blade along its length using a profile template. By altering the radius of the curve and its angle relative to the boot, the skate can be made to behave in a specific way on the ice. In practice, profiling either increases or decreases the area of the blade that contacts the ice. The larger the surface area of the skate touching the ice, the more stable and better-gliding the skate generally is. The smaller the surface area of the skate touching the ice, the more agile and responsive the skate becomes.
How to choose the right skate profile?
Different hollows and profiles are suitable for different skating styles, sports, and skill levels. The right profile can only be found by testing various options and modifying them as needed. A customized profile enhances a skater’s performance, whereas an incorrectly shaped blade makes skating more difficult, weakens performance, and causes muscles to fatigue faster. Each player’s needs should be assessed before profiling to understand what they are hoping to achieve. It is advisable to test 3–4 different profiles to find the most suitable one. When testing profiles, it’s best not to make drastic changes. While searching for the right profile, the sharpening radius (hollow) should always be kept the same.
With precisely designed Parduc® profile templates, you can successfully profile blades to meet the exact wishes of the skater and the demands of the sport.
